CARB DOPE (45g) - by Formula 369

This is hands down the best tasting gel out there. I like the fact that it is subtle, and mellow tasting, not one of those crazy over the top flavors. Absolutely no GI distress.

Can't beat these gels! You will not find another gel of this quality for $2 anywhere. I have tried many others, but when you look at the ingredients and nutritional values compared to the cost, nothing comes close to Carb DOPE! Can't wait when there are other flavor options to mix it up. Great product.

Awesome product! A friend introduced me to it. Tastes great and provides the nutrition and energy for long rides.

This is based on using the gel for distance trail running.

This gel is fine.It's a decent choice if you want added water, don't mind carrying extra water weight, and don't mind the larger volume of each packet vs a less watery gel.

I found that it was no easier to get the gel out of the pack than a less watery gel. Maybe there's a trick, but I haven't found it.

I found that the citrus flavor got old after about 3 gels. Not a terrible flavor, but not meaningfully better than most gels. Stomach was fine. For comparison, I can happily go for 6hrs on only Carbs Fuel gels (8-12 gels) or regular maple syrup.

I'd pick this over Gu gels for palatability or other gels with higher cost per calorie. Maybe better for very hot activities where water sources are sparse. Huge fan of the low cost/calorie approach. I'm returning to Carbs Fuel: they don't taste good, but the packets are smaller and lighter per calorie (I think; have not measured), and I don't mind consuming a bunch of them.

Convenient to carry along just the right amount of added carbs on my training.

I just started using this 2 weeks ago on my bike rides, getting in condition for 102 mile event in November. I like the large size , the taste is pleasant, and more fuel in my body seems to be helping me. And the lower cost compared to other gels is very welcome.

This is my main carb source on my long rides. Though it is a bit sweet, I can drink a little more water and it tastes fine. I’m glad I found this product. Also the price is appealing.

I was pleasantly surprised with this one. Ill be ordering more of these next time. I grabbed a few to try and I liked them a lot. Not exactly sure what the flavor is but it didnt upset the gut and thats a huge W in the fast carb space.

Amazing convenience

It took 1 sacrificial packet to get used to it… after that it was pretty good.

I love carb dope for the taste and carb dose that it provides. As an endurance cyclist, I’m targeting ~90g/hr. Combined with Formula369 in my bottles, carb dope helps me hit my fueling target with ease. I only wish the consistency was a touch runnier, as it can be difficult to consume while on the bike. In my experience, I need both hands to squeeze all of the contents of the packet as opposed to sucking it out.

It takes good and goes down easy! I wish it was a bit smaller to make it easier squeezing out while running.

I’ve been using this for a couple months now and I plan on using it for my Ironman 70.3 this Sunday. Definitely recommend. Taste is chill and not too viscous.

Tried my first gel today, went down well, good taste and consistency!

Tastes amazing. Only thing I’m not happy about is when you tear away the top, sometimes it doesn’t come out but the pre-tear is too high, so I’ve had to squeeze the hell out of it to pop and come out. Certainly worried I rip one on race day and I can’t get it to come out. Might have to make my own pre-cut just in case.

I’ve used the regular formula 369 in my bottles for months during my running. Planned on a long hard push for a 20mile hike with 9k in vert and very rugged terrain. Used the carb dope in conjunction with the regular formula. It was supper easy to get down for both flavor and consistency, easy on the stomach and my body felt good all day! I’ll definitely keep using and buying this product!

These have been a game changer for me! Using them for long distance triathlon training & they sit well in my system and provide the right amount of carbs I want from gels. I mix 6-8 in a 22/24oz bottle with a little water & that works super well, but also love having them on the run in their packet forms.

Very solid. A little less viscous than I thought it’d be but not a biggie. Taste was good and the stomach gave me no grief after 3 of these over 65 miles. Plan to get more and recommend.

These are great !!! I just wish they were a little smaller, but the package is perfect for the jersey pocket. These gels come much closer to being perfect than others. I'm doing ultra races/rides of 1,200+ miles and always find it hard to carry enough fuel. I've been using a highly concentrated mix of the powder in a 500ml flask (600+g carb) and a weak mix (500g in 2L) in my hydration pack. It's been working well, but the DIY gel is a bit of a bomb (need to flush with water after a hit). I can almost replace my Gel with these, but they're just a little too bulky to carry for a 6+ day event. My hope/wish - you offer this formula as a powder.

Love the macros, 45g of carbs is great, I like the thiner consistency, only used once so far and no stomach issues yet, only negative, they are extremely sweet. I can see some potential for palate fatigue.

The new Carb Dope gel is amazing!!! You did good man! Thankyou for bringing us this product. I just got a box of 30 and I’ll be ordering another 30 soon. It makes it so easy for me to hit 90g carbs an hour and manage my hydration separately. We are a needy bunch out here lol. So now I’m gonna ask for a Carb Dope in the future with caffeine!
